PRESENTER: Ben Thearle & Stefan Bader.
TOPIC: HardieSmart acoustically and fire rated wall solutions for class 1 & 10 buildings.
OVERVIEW: This training covers the fundamental BCA requirements for external boundary and separating walls, including fire, acoustic and thermal performance. It introduces HardieSmart systems as design solutions to meet these requirements. The workshop will cover the relevant system testing, applications and construction details with a specific focus on Zerolot construction.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: Understanding of medium density (class 1 & 10) development BCA and other code requirements. Understanding fire resistance technology with a focus on mineral wool/char timber based fire rated walls. Understanding of acoustic, thermal, structural and other associated requirements. Understanding HardieSmart™ Intertenancy, Zerolot and Boundary wall system construction and design. Provide tools to assist with certification of HardieSmart™ wall systems.
PRESENTER: James Tyson, National Specification.
TOPIC: Product selection - Schools and Education facilities.
OVERVIEW: The selection and application of door to large openings in Schools and other Government and Private education facilities follows a fairly strict set of guidelines which has limited product selection opportunities. This module will introduce a number of alternatives to the key products that sit at the very top of the security tree which seems to come up for re-selection over and over again.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: Review types of commonly found openings. Define different product types suitable for each application, features and options available with each product. Introduce alternative products that can be used on similar applications depending of specific wants or needs. Awareness of the different types of safety issues associated with product design and how that may effect the application.
PRESENTER: Alison Peach, Commercial Account Manager QLD.
TOPIC: Introduction to window treatments.
OVERVIEW: Windows are the weakest point in any building, but remain the most critical to design, with the view beyond often the biggest single reason for location decision. This presentation aims to show you how to best select and specify window treatments to assist good design, and deliver significant efficiency and cost savings over the life of a project. This course is designed to equip you with knowledge of what window treatments are, what options are available, how they can be used, where they can be used, and why.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: Understanding of Window Treatments, and applications to deliver a safe, functional and beautiful space for your clients. Define industry terms, create treatment solutions, Application of the solar optical results and performance fabrics. Cover off legislative requirements and safety.
