Learning Outcomes
- Learn about the functional and aesthetics benefits of Microtoppings (AACA competency PC18 – apply creative imagination, design precedents and refining concept design options)
- Understand how to select and specify compatible primers, jointing, waterproofing, and protective sealers for various situations (AACA competency PC39 – integration of material selection)
- Learn about where different finishes can and should be used (AACA competency PC28 – draw on knowledge from building sciences and technology as part of preliminary design research and when developing the conceptual design to optimise the performance of the project)
- Learn about protecting and maintaining the finish (AACA competency PC45 -Understand processes for selecting materials, finishes, and systems, based on consideration of quality and performance standards)
- Learn about where and how to specify slip resistance (AACA competency PC46 – meets the requirements of the contract and complies with regulatory controls, building standards, codes)
