Introduction to Window Treatments

Windows are the weakest point in any building, but remain the most critical to design, with the view beyond often the biggest single reason for location decision. How can we best select and specify Window treatments to assist good design? Blinds are often an underrated product that can deliver significant efficiency and cost savings over the life of a project. This course is designed to equip you with basic knowledge of what window treatments are, what options are available, how they can be used, where they can be used, and why. Increase your understanding to expand the comfort options indoors and out to deliver a safe, functional and beautiful space for your clients.

• Ability to identify Window Treatments as a tool kit. (AACA competency DESIGN- schematic design 4.7).
• Demonstrate knowledge of window treatment types to deliver a sustainable and comfortable environment. (AACA competency DESIGN – conceptual design 3.2).
• Apply Solar Optical results (AACA competency DESIGN- schematic design 4.6).
• Recall current Legislative requirements. (AACA competency DESIGN – conceptual design 3.4).
