Overview

Australia’s National Construction Code for Class 2 to 9 Buildings came into effect on 1 October 2024 and includes updated rules and regulations concerning Energy monitoring and on-site distributed energy resources.

This includes:

  • Facilities for Energy Monitoring
  • Facilities for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment
  • Facilities for Solar PV & Battery Systems

What architects and builders need to be aware of when constructing buildings of this code is the ease-of-retrofitting this infrastructure later to meet growing demand. Being aware of these issues prior to building makes it easier for trained electricians to work on said building which will save your client money in the future.
