Overview

Australia’s National Construction Code for Class 2 to 9 Buildings came into effect on 1 October 2024 and includes updated rules and regulations concerning Energy monitoring and on-site distributed energy resources.

This includes:

  • Facilities for Energy Monitoring
  • Facilities for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment
  • Facilities for Solar PV & Battery Systems

What architects and builders need to be aware of when constructing buildings of this code is the ease-of-retrofitting this infrastructure later to meet growing demand. Being aware of these issues prior to building makes it easier for trained electricians to work on said-building which will save your client money in the future.
