The NCC changes are set to significantly impact residential construction. We heard from our guest speaker Kelvin Cuskelly, Manager – Building Services for HIA , as he provided a snapshot of the key changes that will be impacting the QLD Building Industry.

The inimitable Marylou Cafaro and the amazing team at polytec launched their beautiful trendjournal, showcasing joinery and design trends in Australia.

Joining forces were Polytec, Caesarstone and Taubmans in an interactive session with Designers, creating personalised palettes of colours for their interior designs. They created stunnning flat lays with unique colours using the Coloursmith tool for their social media.

In this presentation Kate explained how to create trending curves using the Polytec range, and Wayne from Sydney Steel Windows & Doors presented all of the pros and cons of using steel fabricated windows & doors.

Andy & Gabriel from Queensland Timber Flooring delivered this informative presentation filled with expert guidance and advice. With 30 years of industry experience and a passion for timber flooring, those in attendance got the no spin answers to all of their questions.

The clever team at Polytec ran a wonderfully engaging session on Biophilic Design, a concept used within the building industry to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment through the use of direct nature, indirect nature, and space and place conditions.

It was our pleasure to host this group of Building Designers from all over the region for a series of in showroom presentations. Our thanks to all of the exhibitors who participated in the event for sharing your knowledge & expertise.

This presentation with Andrew from Stratco reviewed Long Run commercial roofs and the various design criteria which determines supplier and profile choice, logistical restraints, and cost implications.

In this 1.5-hour workshop, Dawn from Designing Interiors covered topics surrounding harmonious and timeless design, creating spaces that incorporate balance and texture and how to get the most value out of your selections when working to a budget.

As they do so successfully all the time, Oliver and the team from James Hardie treated these builders from Landmark Homes NZ to a number of site visits showcasing their latest designs, and also a plant visit to demonstrate what goes into producing their product range. Valuable & unforgettable engagement.

It was once again our great pleasure to represent all of our Exhibitors at this year’s Master Builders QLD Roadshow. On this occasion Tom was a solo act, but had lots of productive conversations with Builders who now understand that this is their Selection Centre.

Brittany from Geberit discussed the importance of specifying sanitaryware products that comply with the NCC; addressing the WaterMark Certification process, significance of WELS Ratings, and differences between Non Conforming Building Products

Damien discussed the benefits of specifying SHEETROCK® ONE, Knauf’s state-of-the-art lightweight two in one application plasterboard for residential walls and ceilings. Dylan Viviers presented Geostone’s SEQ range and discussed technical and design solutions for residential and commercial concrete options.

With 170 people registered for the session, we had to break it into an 11am and another 2pm session. Stuart shared the basics of how to breathe new life into a tired piece of furniture that you will be proud to keep in your home for years to come.

With years of experience, Marie.G shared her process on how to approach the Realities of Renovating. From forethought to making plans, changing plans, and endless decisions.

It was our pleausure to host Toni, Kelvin and the team at HIA for two insightful 3 hour sessions on key changes that will impact Builders under the new National Construction Code.

This group of design students from Torrens University gained valuable insights into product ranges and applications. Our thanks to the awesome people at Hettich, Polytec and Queensland Timber Flooring for sharing your knowledege and expertise.

During this presentation, Elizabeth O’Neil, from Imperial Kitchens, did an outstanding job of discussing the most frequently asked questions when designing a kitchen. Her knowledge and experience shone through, and everyone in attendance absolutely loved her presentation.

In this course, Stuart from Benjamin Moore provided an overview of sustainable design and the creation of healthier environments with architectural paints.

The proactive team at Polytec continue to set themselves up for enormous success. On Thursday evening they hosted a group of Interior Architecture Students from QUT for a fun training session, and spoilt them wrotten with some beautiful catering.

Lucas introduced their newest innovation; James Hardie Brushed Concrete Cladding for Unlocking Modern Exteriors. Andy and Gabriel from Queensland Timber Flooring offered advice and education on a range of important topics regarding timber flooring.

Our thanks to Tina & Maria for hosting this seminar where they shared all her knowledge of not only Caroma Bathroom products but also specialty advice on selecting the right items that you need for your project.

The team at James Hardie continue to do a brilliant job of engaging their inner circle customers. It was our pleasure to host their three day Learn with Hardie workshops last week.
