Overview

This presentation will take you through the key fire performance tests and how they are applied to insulation and sarking. This safety critical area requires careful consideration in the design of a building, with our help this process can be straightforward and stress free.

Learning Outcomes

Attendees to this session will understand:

  • AS1530.1 Non-combustibility,
  • AS1530.2 Flammability of Materials,
  • AS1530.3 Early Fire Hazard Properties of Materials,
  • AS1530.4 Fire Resistance Level (FRL),
  • Group numbers determined using AS 5637.1 and AS ISO 9705 for multi-layered insulation products

AACA Competencies

  • Learning Outcome Mapped to the National Standard of Competency for Architects Unit of Competency:
o 1.1.3 – 14 The design concept demonstrates compliance with the law, relevant codes and regulations and industry standards for development, design, construction and services,
o 2.1.2 – 70 Materials, products and systems are selected and described in accordance with the detailed design,
o 1.3.2 – 40 The detailed design investigates and evaluates construction elements based upon an understanding of technical performance and the requirements of building standards,
